A titanic battle saw the 4ths prevail against the 3rds on Joker Draw day. Both teams had late changes. OD went amiss with a case of gangrene, BT went chicken with a hamstring twang, Charlton was attending the KFC open day, and Bourbon was holed up with his daughter’s friend’s sister’s mother’s brother’s uncle’s step son’s birthday.
[singlepic id=97 w=150 h=112 float=right]Game was gearing up to be an interesting one with Gellibrand a slim chance of securing a spot in the finals and us wanting to end the year on a good note with a win. Did I say they had a slim chance… about as much chance of bourbon stopping to drink bourbon, noodles stop eating noodles, jenny eating something other than meat and potatoes and shrek keeping quiet for a whole game you get my point …. Anyway ..Shrek and Noodles were playing in the 4ths which was to the great relief of mainly to the older guys in the thirds. Shrek free Yeeeaaaa haaaaa ….finally we could get a game with some peace and quiet where someone isn’t constantly barraging you with possible outcomes, scenarios , ball by ball commentary bla bla blab la bla…… but we did miss Noodles…. Ok…. and ……shrek …. Only a little bit mainly because we didn’t have anybody to bag while we were fielding. Read the rest of this entry »

TrackbackIn their final hit-out for the season, the 4ths could not manage to chase down a mediocre West Newport target, and finished on 6/150 after their allotted 35 overs. TrackbackAs you all know, this Sunday sees the VTCA game for the Bushfire Appeal. As a club our success this season to date has been reflected in the selection of 3 players. Lets all get to Port Melbourne on Sunday to support them. Should be a cracker of a game, 1pm start.
