The 1sts travelled to a hot and very sandy Skinner Res to take on Druids in a 1 dayer for the last game before Xmas.  Danny won the toss again (a real good tosser the coach) and decided a bat.

Slugga and Manny were this weeks openers and got us away to a reasonable start.  Slug took over the aggressive roll from T (WHO WANTS TO BE KNOWN AS VIV FROM NOW ON) smashing the 1st 2 balls he faced to the boundary.  Read the rest of this entry »

The last game of the year against Point Cookie was a one dayer. Quite simply, we got smashed. Damo 25, and Joffa 18 were the only two to reach double figures. All out for 85 off just 32 overs.

Point Cook batted patiently and reached 83 runs in 33 overs. The highlight of the day was young Josh debuting against his former side with a wicket, and young Jordan making his first run EVER, in fact he made two.

Maybe we should have gone shopping at Aldi across the road. We might have performed better there…

Whilst some will still be struggling to comprehend that Christmas is just around the corner….this weekend will see the Cricket Club Christmas Break-up. In what is traditionally one of the best nights of the year giving the opportunity to relax without the threat of a week at work to look forward to, whilst also reflecting on the first half of the season.
