The CYs first XI dismissed Parkville for 193 in 77 overs on Saturday. Mark Patrick had another great day at the bowling crease returning 4-33 taking his seasons average to a fantastic 9.8.

Chris Armstrong and Chris Holt both took two wickets each, Chris at the start of the innings and Holty wrapping up the tail. Moz and Hags picked up one each.

The CYs faced three overs late in the day losing Rubes for the single run scored.

A sensational batting performance led by Jamie Rubelli (76) and solid batting from the entire order saw the CYs first XI innings reach 303. Well in excess of the 88 compiled by FU.

Having to face another stinging attack from a strong CYs bowling line-up, FU again wilted early and things looked to be in the bag after they crawled to 6-94. Mark Patrick was again the destroyer with 5-55 giving him nine for the match.

The seventh wicket partnership proved much more resilient and realised 101 runs with McLellan also finishing on that score. He recieved some valuable supprt and having made 241 runs in the second dig the CYs needed 27 runs to complete the outright.

They duly completed that task in 14 deliveries for the loss of one wicket.

It was the second outright win of the season and entrenches second place less than one point behind St. Albans.

A series of big partnerships condemned the Second XI to a defeat at Scovell Reserve.

Set 325 to win Footscray United began well with an opening stand of 130. Further partnerships saw FU pass the CYs and finish 9-367

Wicket takers were Damo Barber (2-71), Jacko (2-97), Rainer Reber (2-73) and Lawrence henry (1-9).

The side is still only 2.5 points out of fourth spot with one round to play.
