The seconds were unable to defend last weeks total of 214 at Werribee Centrals. On.ly Shaun Byrne (3-30) took more than one wicket as Werribee Centrals finished their 80 overs at 5/257.

With the 3rd XI having a dire start to the season, we travelled to Sunshine to play GU, looking to reverse our trend of poor form. Mammoth wheat silos stood triumphantly in the background, and with ground the colour of straw, it promised to be a good batting ground with a fast outfield. Winning the toss, Skip elected to bat, using the theory that the cyclonic winds would aid us more than the bowlers. Life is tough.

So is playing cricket with a makeshift, last minute conjured up team. Resuming against Hoppers, Pony bowled a consistent line to stike three times before drinks, to see Hoppers 4-113. In tandem with Chris Jnr, they continued to tie down the batsmen, not allowing space or runs at ease. Pony struck again as the batsman played onto his stumps to give Pony 5 for.
