Andrew Leetet took six wickets but Keilor Park managed to make the 235 target thanks mainly to 110 not out from KP captain Joe Misiti who received support from R Misiti and S. Maitland.
The CYs piled on the pressure late and when the second last wicket fell KP still needed 30 runs to win. However they could not remove Misiti who guided his side over the line.
Earlier the CYs Hags (6-80) and Armstrong (4-59) struck to have KP at 3-62 but a series of partnerships kept the rate going. When both bowlers struck again later a KP collapse all around their captain gave the CYs a look in but it was not to be.
We needed 251 runs to chase down West Newport, and Aido the nightwatchman was with Corpse, on a rather chilly afternoon. Aido continued from last week, nicely timing some beautiful 4’s, including one he caressed off his legs and past square leg. A fuller ball brought Aido undone on 24 as it went under his bat and onto the stumps. Aido and Corpse had put on a 53 run partnership, a nice start to se us 2-53. Read the rest of this entry »
